Digital Garment Printing is insane.

I agree, screen printing is the industry standard. I love screen printing, and the feel of a shirt fresh off the press. I used to hate plastisol. But now I have come to appreciate it because it is awesome and brings the most insanely vibrant colors.

All of this aside, after spending a few weeks with Thriving Ink’s new i-dot DTG printer, I have fallen in love. Maybe it is the fact that is takes two minutes to print a 15 color 16x20 design and costs $2 worth of ink. Or maybe it’s because we can offer to our customers the unheard saying in the t-shirt decorating industry: “no minimums”. I love it!! No screen printer in the world would offer no minimums, but we can because the process is so easy and efficient. No setup, no screens, no films, no 7 day production time. You need one tee? Let the DTG handle it.

I am officially a personal fan of DTG technology and can’t wait to see how this niche in the industry blossoms. Here are some pics to put some fun in my first blog post on this new blog.

what do you think of screen printing vs. digital printing?

  1. jenelledronkers answered: as long as people do not believe they will have the exact same experience as screenprinting then it is all good. the results are so similar!
